My "Miss Americas"

In 2000 "Miss America", Katie Harman rode in my car in a local parade. (Katie is from nearby Gresham, Oregon). The next year my oldest grand daughter, Miriam, wanted to ride in a parade so I made a magnetic sign that said "Future Miss America, Miriam Hartwig". Two years later her sister Ally and cousin Addie wanted to "try out" for the team so I made the same signs with their names on them. The four year olds think it's magic that everyone knows their name and Miriam, who is now nine, isn't going to spoil their magic spell by telling them that their names are on their signs. They are a big hit at the local parades.
